To Navya, yoga is more than just the physical asana, but about harnessing a connection to one’s self, coming home to the truth of who we really are.
To Navya, yoga is more than just the physical asana, but about harnessing a connection to one’s self, coming home to the truth of who we really are.
Navya began her yoga journey in 2023, however her connection to it has always been ever
present. Throughout her life, she has learned about yoga in organizations such as the Art of
Living Foundation, took a yoga class at the Sivananda Ashram in the Bahamas, and even lived
above a yoga studio in college! After taking her first hot yoga class in the summer of 2023, she
fell in love with the practice and has been dedicated ever since. At first, yoga was about the
physical asana, and also about finding a way to help with mental health struggles. Having been
a multisport athlete growing up and a collegiate athlete, she felt yoga to be a wonderful mental
relief and physical, a way to quiet the noise and also to de-stress the body. A few short months
later, life gifted her with Gopi’s 200 HR teacher training, and her relationship with yoga
deepened farther than she could have imagined.
Now, Navya is devoted to not only her practice and her relationship with yoga, but also to her
students and those she feels blessed to teach. To her, yoga is more than just the physical
asana, but about harnessing a connection to one’s self, coming home to the truth of who we
really are. She hopes to continue her journey as a yogi and to selflessly serve as a guide to her
students through their own personal journeys.
